Don’t let it get to you. Don’t feel anything. Don’t let them win. It’s not worth it. As the youngest Winter Queen that has ever existed, there are many obstacles that Layla must overcome before she can achieve her goal. Hide her identity. Hide her powers. Control her emotions. Don’t hurt humans. And most importantly, don’t fall in love with them. Now in the human world she has managed to survive even when the school bully Brigid, who is always out looking for a new target to play with, threatens to destroy everything. That all changes when Layla captures the attention of a boy named Sasha Reynold, who changes her life. Can Layla get back the life that she wants, or will she lose everything that she has built?

The skies were grey, and droplets ran down the windowpane. It was raining. It felt as if the rain knew what I was not allowed to feel. Like it was crying on my behalf. After what happened on the last day of school, everything that Layla has worked for is at risk. The Ministers are breathing down her neck and Brigid isn’t making things easy. But she refuses to give in and instead, has chosen to fight back. She will get her revenge. Even if she has to give up everything. And even if it meant to be in the same space as Sasha Reynold. This time, she would not make the same mistake.
