This novel is about Albert Sia Hiong Tiong, who did not believe his roots could flourish this land. This adopted land of his mother was slowly driving the Chinese culture and language he had all so embraced to extinction to preserve a fragile multi-racial society. His disillusionment leads him to Yunnan, China. This was to be his true land; a land true his culture; a land true his race. Albert Sia Hiong Tiong has embarked on a journey in search of his true roots, only to find that the truth of this land would soon lead him to the path he would have never dreamt of taking before. Author, novelist, poet. Dr. Gunawan Mahmood was born in the Parit Raja Batu Pahat, Johor on January 29, 1959 and grew up in Felda Ulu Tebrau, Ulu Tiram, Johor. Died at the office in the building Dato 'Jaafar Muhammad, Kota Iskandar, Nusajaya, Johor while serving as political secretary to the Mentri Besar of Johor. Dr. Gunawan Mahmood dilahirkan di Parit Raja, Batu Pahat, Johor pada 29 Januari 1959 dan dibesarkan di Felda Ulu Tebrau,Ulu Tiram, Johor. Meninggal dunia di pejabatnya di bangunan Dato' Jaafar Muhammad, Kota Iskandar, Nusajaya, Johor ketika bertugas sebagai setiausaha politik kepada Menteri Besar.
