I am a long-time admirer of all things scientific and speculative with regard to science fiction, which I have been reading since an early age in childhood. I agree with Ayn Rand's description of art as that which concretizes an abstraction—one that makes an idea real on paper, canvas, or sculpture; or any other form of art that makes an idea real to the viewer. I have a degree in both physics and philosophy and keep up with both in various forums. NOTE: Modern language has changed "solar current" to mean the current arising for solar panels, but that is not what this story is about. Once upon a time ago, the solar flares and their charged particle ejections were referred to as the solar current; and that is the meaning I am using in this short story. I apologize for any confusions, but the title was written a long time ago when "solar current" had a different meaning. It is an enjoyable short story that doesn't have anything to do with solar-powered electric panels.
