Blueberry Fields
2013
Welcome to Three Bridges, Texas. This small town in the heart of East Texas was founded around 1880 on the other side of a small meandering stream that masquerades as a river in springtime, and took its name from three bridges built by feuding immigrant farmers trying to establish their boundaries and build their future. By mid-1930 only one bridge remained—a new structure built when a tornado cut a wide swath through the town destroying the old bridges. Still, the name of Three Bridges was firmly in place and the town grew steadily, spurred in part by the discovery of oil in East Texas. No wells were drilled in Three Bridges, but the newly rich became enchanted with this growing town. Today if you wandered off the interstate and crossed Compromise Creek, Main Street would take you to the heart of Three Bridges. The Bank of Three Bridges is on the right, and City Café across the street. On River Road, beautiful Victorian and Craftsman style homes stand proud, and on the edge of town, Community Baptist Church welcomes the residents of this small town. Three Bridges may be quiet looking to the observer, but if you lived here . . . well you’d know that there’s always something going on. If you don’t believe me, then ask Julie Trahan!

Will the reclusive divorcee and the career hardened special agent stop fighting long enough to be more than friends? Kidnapping, murder, and random acts of malice in this tale from Three Bridges keep the reader flipping pages faster than Henry Tucker from City Café can flip pancakes.
