Suicide at the age of 16. The ultimate end to Melissa Jones' short-lived life, a life filled with hopelessness and pain. It was no secret that Melissa was bullied at school from an early age, not only by her classmates but by her very own friends, yet she kept one thing hidden from those around her; it was her abusive father, Sammy Jones, who was the root of her pain. Beaten down mentally, Melissa was made to feel worthless, unwanted, unloved, and alone. She suffered from anxiety and depression, and therefore developed eating disorders, self-harming behaviors ("cutting"), and suicidal ideation to cope.
