Tim Newby is the features editor at Honest Tune Magazine and his work has appeared in a variety of magazines, both online and in print. He lives in Baltimore, Maryland where he is an active part of the city’s thriving live music scene. His first book, Bluegrass in Baltimore: The Hard Drivin' Sound and its Legacy, was published in 2015. In November 2016, the book was awarded a Certificate of Merit from the Association for Recorded Sound Collections for excellence in Best Research in Recorded Country Music. In January 2017 it was named one of the thirty best books about bluegrass music by About Great Books. Newby's second book, Leftover Salmon: Thirty Year's of Festival! was published by Rowman & Littlefield in February 2019.
