The Perfect...Wife?Tony Sinclair is looking for a sweet, Southern Hower of femininity to raise their 3.5 children in the "Leave It To Beaver" life he never had. So why is he so captivated by Jazz Taylor, a bold, sassy special effects artist who whips up movie creatures, not cookies? And stubborn! He's never met a woman who was so set on refusing police protection. If he can just keep her out of trouble long enough, maybe they'll have a chance to see where this hotter-than-hot attraction leads. Jazz has stood on her own two feet since she was young, and she's not looking for a white knight—even though Tony's testosterone is arranged very nicely and his personal, uh, skills give "Protect and Serve" a whole new meaning...But Jazz has hidden behind smoke and mirrors for so long can she trust her heart that love is no illusion?

Karen Kendall is the author of many disasters and nine romantic comedies. She grew up in Austin, Texas, and credits her early interest in writing to several teachers and her mother, a professor of comparative literature. A graduate of Smith College, Karen studied the mysteries of modern and contemporary art before enrolling in a masters program in Museum Education, with the aim of teaching children about art. She worked for several museums and galleries before following her lifelong dream and completing a novel. Karen is still a big fan of children's art, but she now writes full time and lives in Florida with her husband, Don, and attack-cat Boo, who turns up her nose at chicken and fish but adores asparagus and mint-chocolate-chip ice cream.
