TOOLS FOR THE AWAKENED PARENT : THE POWER OF THE LANGUAGE WE USE **Finding your parenting style can be challenging. Should you be practicing gentle parenting, submissive parenting, authoritative parenting, permissive parenting? If there are multiple parents involved, how do you all agree on the best way to raise your children?**Vera Culkoff is a practicing barrister, or according to the US legal system, a trial lawyer. In her strong view the legal profession was far easier to master than being a parent. As with every profession, extensive training is provided. No training whatsoever was provided to her in how to be a good parent, let alone a conscious and awakened one. That is our global norm. Yet, what can be more important than teaching parents-to-be how to be good and effective parents? Whatever Vera picked up, consciously and unconsciously, came from her cultural and family environment. She was a parent at age 23 which, in itself, highlights the fact that she herself was still growing and evolving. A child raising a younger child?? This book is a collection of all the tools she did not have or know about as she was raising her two children, particularly up to the critical age of seven to eight years. They are gleaned purely from her own personal experiences and learnings and her extensive research in the field of science. One of the very first seminars Vera attended was an Alpha Dynamics seminar. She experienced, first hand, the power of the Alpha/Theta states and can dive into them to this day. Most of the tools in this book are designed to be playful and deliberately so. Our children’s state of being, particularly during this tender period, is predominately lived in that playful, fantasy frame of mind, known as the Alpha or Theta state. What we say and do during this period can and does have significant impact on their lives as adults. Yes, as adults, they can certainly undo negative patterns imprinted in their subconscious minds like a computer software. But the deletion of that negative imprinted “software” is not easy. And, in the meantime, it is likely to cause much unhappiness and struggle. The aim of this book is to bring awareness to some of the simple tools we can use as parents that can create positive and powerful “programming” so that our children grow into empowered adults that can create massive shifts on our planet, as a whole new collective. Vera has often said she will be a very awakened grandparent when that magical time arrives.
