I didn't begin writing until well into my retirement years, after prompting from my family to write about the stories I imagined from the characters within our family tree. As a keen historian for our family tree I am often found researching and have managed to go back 9 generations so far. This is a far cry from how I spent my working life working for others in accounts departments, with a brief sojourn as owner of a country book store, followed by a really enjoyable stint as a proof reader to a provincial newspaper. Add to that a well-travelled life and love of history it seemed a natural progression into putting words on paper. Or, in this case, on a computer. I can't begin to explain how getting use to eBooks, using writing software and getting a social presence to assist in promoting my writing has scared me to death. Luckily for me my daughter is a bit of a techie geek and writer herself, so thanks to her this website went online and stays current. I am also a mother [of three grown children] and a grandmother, living in Queensland, Australia and my main enjoyments are reading, writing, fishing and bowling.
