After the events of the first novel of the David Fletcher series, “Welcome to the Strange”, David opens his eyes to the sight of blinding white lights and the sterile smell of antiseptic. His head throbbing and thoughts a jumbled mess, he glances around the unfamiliar hospital room, with no recollection of where he is or how he got there. A kind-faced female doctor enters, introducing herself as Dr. Alice Morgan. She tells him that he’s experienced a severe mental trauma and has been under observation. After a brief conversation, the doctor administers a sedative, and David drifts off to sleep. When he awakens, he somehow finds himself back at his home, left wondering if what he experienced was real, or a fever dream. He soon realizes that things are not how they should be. He receives a call from Dr. Morgan, who tells him to meet with her as soon as possible, promising him answers to the questions flooding his mind. He meets with her, but senses that something is off. He attempts to leave before she orders her highly-trained guards to capture him. Being now on the run, David must remain hidden at all costs while attempting to learn the secrets of his past.
