Lessons from The Parable of the Ten Virgins is a study on getting ready and staying ready as disciples of Jesus as we wait for his return. In kingdom life, the oil that gives light to our lamps is an uncommon commodity in the world. It is to know Jesus. These lessons look closely at what distracts us from buying oil, how to buy oil, and how to help others buy oil. Each lesson explores scripture, has teaching and practical applications, reflection questions, and plenty of space for note taking as you work through the book. This study works great for individuals or in a group. From the author... As I read The Parable of the Ten Virgins a couple of years ago, I believe the Holy Spirit stirred some questions in my heart. Important questions. There were more, but out of those questions came the idea for this study. I began to pray, study, research, interview pastors. In the middle of that, I began to burn with a passion for the kingdom of heaven and an urgency to be ready for Jesus’ return. Not only to be ready, but to tell others about being ready. Here are three reasons why being ready is important and worth studying. First, it keeps us watching for Jesus' return. Secondly, it cultivates relationship with Jesus right here, right now. And, thirdly, it promotes kingdom life. Do you have enough oil to keep your lamp burning while we wait for our heavenly bridegroom? Are you continually pressing into Jesus for understanding and knowledge? Are you burning in such a way that others can see? Are you telling them about Jesus—how he outshines everything?
