Everyone’s heard the phrase ‘the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else,’ but I’d never really put much stock into it. It wasn’t something that applied to me, someone in a happy relationship. At least it hadn’t. I’m not so sure anymore, though. Everything’s different now, though, as I find myself alone in New York City three days before Christmas. I left my cheating ex back in Maine, and I’m happy to leave him and every memory of him there. I have a new job, and this is my fresh start. But who wants to be alone for the holidays? Does that same saying still apply if it’s more than one someone?
