Book adaptation of the short "Once Upon a Wintertime" from the Disney film Melody Time. Sweethearts Joe and Jenny go ice skating, but their date takes a dangerous turn when Jenny skates onto thin ice. As per usual with Disney, woodland creatures play a key role in the plot.
