Walther Kabel (1878 - 1935) was a German pulp fiction author, most popular in the 1920s, when a new story of his was published almost every week. When the Nazi Party took charge in Germany, Kabel was labeled a "smut writer" and forbidden to publish any more works. He died from a bullet wound less than two years later, and is believed to have committed suicide.
