Part of Series

Jarrod Hawkins, a bio-mechanically enhanced vigilante with a violent past, has finally found peace in the mountains of West Virginia. At the Clearwater Ranch, he is surrounded by friends, family, and the hope of a new beginning. But beyond his mountaintop sanctuary, the world has fallen into the hands of a terrorist—a man capable of rewriting the human brain. Jarrod and his friends strike back. They fight an army of mind-controlled soldiers and save hundreds of lives along the way. But the enemy has a new weapon—a synthetic organism powerful enough to tear Jarrod apart. The team retreats to West Virginia and is formulating a plan to defeat the beast when the unthinkable a spy infiltrates the sanctuary and carries out a surprise attack. In the blink of an eye, everything changes. Shaken by the attack, Jarrod abandons his friends and ignites the fire of a new war. One without rules. Without mercy. The war of The Nightmare.

I was born and raised in the rural Midwest, surrounded by miles of cornfields. After graduating high-school, I enlisted in the United States Air Force, then rode a desk for four years before transferring to an elite Special Tactics unit. In that unit, I was privileged to work with Special Operations Forces personnel from the Army, Navy, and Marines. My training took me to exotic locations around the world, and I completed two combat deployments in Afghanistan. After my second term of enlistment, I separated from the Air Force to spend more time with my family and go to college. While grinding through math, science, and academic writing classes, I resumed one of my favorite past times—storytelling. Now, I write fiction full-time. Through writing, I share the tragedy, comradery, pain, and redemption I've seen throughout life. I hope to spark awareness and change through my novels, and I give a large portion of my proceeds to charitable organizations that fight human trafficking around the world.
