The book excludes many accounts of the way the Britishers ruled the country. The book is different from the other works in the sense that it contains how the British civil servants in the Raj administration suffered after leaving the country and what happened to some professionals who left for Pakistan. To the burning plains and snow-capped mountains of this great, humming continent, Bal Barot brings his exceptional gifts of storytelling and with insight into the human heart. It is the interwoven story of a generation whose struggles to understand and free themselves from a troubled time takes them to Canada. It is a novel of care and love that unwind through Prakash and Margaret's life, till the birth of their son, Robin. It is such a delightful and pleasant experience to read such a story which takes a reader from India and Pakistan to Canada
