Wendy Aguiar is a middle school language arts teacher and tutor with fourteen years of experience in her field. In 2016, she was honored as Teacher of the Year during a very stormy season in her life. "Storm Chasers" is her first book, yet it will resonate with a wide audience for its authenticity and relevance. This book has been named as a COVID-19 Pandemic Category Finalist in the Next Generation Indie Book Awards for 2021. Wendy considers herself to be a “storm expert” based on personal encounters with storms of adversity that could have shipwrecked her life. Wendy’s lifelong dream of publishing a book came to fruition when the COVID-19 pandemic prompted deep reflection. The author was recognized in 2005 by Nova Southeastern University with the distinction of Outstanding Student Graduate within the Division of Humanities. She continued working full-time and raising her son as a single parent when she returned to school, earning her master’s degree in Reading Education in 2008. She contributed frequent articles to her church newsletter and currently enjoys writing songs, poetry and inspirational anecdotes. Some of her current hobbies include singing, blogging, sampling authentic Mexican food and shopping. Wendy resides with her family in sunny South Florida where she is adapting to the new normal of teaching online.
