The material presented here, for the first time in English, is a translation of Chapter 1 of Rosa Luxemburg's Introduction to Economics, which does not survive in full. This work had its origin in Luxemburg's teaching activities at the Party School, instituted by the German Social Decomcracy in 1906 and held in Berlin in the course of the winter months until the year 1913.
