Cardinal Fredrick Blanchard was kneeling in prayer at the Papal Conclave when God looked into his heart and saw how unhappy the man was. All his life he wanted to help people, real people, up close and personal, and now he was cloistered in an office as the Vatican's chief bean counter. So God spoke to him, telling the man to leave the Church, go out into the real world, and help people. Follow his heart, was God's command. So he did. In doing so, he ended up in Vietnam, and he discovered a world filled with kind people, joy, fulfillment, and people helping him as much as he wanted to help others. And most amazingly, he discovered himself. This is the story of his remarkable adventure, his journey to a life of giving, caring, helping, nurturing, loving and being loved, all because he listened when God spoke.
