Will Irby lives and writes in Florida and North Carolina. He credits the adventure novels and chivalric tales his mother read aloud as inspiration for his writing. He is a US Navy veteran, formerly stationed in the Mediterranean. Irby studied history and English literature at Florida State University. In the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina he collected folk tales, joined a theatre troupe, and learned to buck dance. Later, his treasured students at the island school on Cedar Key, Florida revealed a rare glimpse into a way of life already fading from view. Over the past twenty years he has served as a private investigator and security consultant to corporate clients, private collectors, trusts and estates. His assignments and travel throughout Europe, Central America, Cuba, and the Caribbean continue to enrich and color his fiction.
