Growing restless under his parents' constant watch, Mikal asks his father for something to do. Something worthwhile. Kri'Entu, king of Lentari, and Mikal's father, has his own dilemma to deal with. He has received disturbing news which could have permanent repercussions on every man, woman, and child living in Lentari. Realizing that his efforts in trying to save the kingdom has been taking up all his time, Kri'Entu tasks Mikal with solving another problem he just doesn't have the time to deal with: a certain renegade wizard has resurfaced and has been creating mayhem all across the kingdom. Wanting to get Mikal out of his hair, and figuring this would be the perfect assignment for his son to prove he can handle the responsibility necessary to one day wear the crown, Kri'Entu sends Mikal out on a quest to once and for all determine who this mysterious wizard is and see to it he accounts for his actions. Can Mikal, with the help of his companions, identify the dastardly wizard? Will they be able to bring him to justice? Are the problems facing the kingdom and the reemergence of Lentari's Public Enemy #1 related?
