Part of Series
Women of the Crystal Coast is a fantasy anthology that revolves around strong female characters and female empowerment. This anthology, like the two before it, takes place within the world of Harthx, on the continent of Draston. However, the stories will take place in the ancient times along the Crystal Coast. This will bring some unique features to the table that aren't seen very much in the fantasy genre, such as bronze metals instead of iron or steel, the lack of paper leaves wizards having to study their spells off cuneiform clay tablets instead of spell books, etc.

When I am not writing, I toss tennis balls to my cadre of dogs. My house is filled with books and dogs, you can smell both when you walk in the front door. It's a good smell. I have 36 published novels and am currently writing in the mystery genre. My latest mystery, The Dead of Winter, was a finalist for the Claymore Award and is the first in the Piper Blackwell series. I live in a tiny town in the middle of Illinois that has a Dollar General, a pizza place with exceedingly slow service, a veterinarian (good thing, eh?), and train tracks...lots of train tracks.

Joel Norden was born and raised in Napoleon, Ohio. Where he still lives with his loving wife and two wonderful daughters. His childhood was spent running and playing—often with homemade wooden swords in hand—through cornfields, down in the creek and within an old barn where he got into plenty of trouble with his siblings. Joel, his brother Jacob, and sister Gigi, all got into fantasy at a young age. Learning to play Rolemaster, and reading series such as Dragonlance, which fueled their imaginations into creating the Dragonband setting. Years later, Joel showed off Dragonband to his good friend Charles Beason and told him about his dream to own a publishing company. That talk lead into hours and hours of research, and many late nights. From that conversation Knights of the Northwest Publishing was formed, and with it came the Dragonband series.
