Xianna Michaels is a poet and writer who creates intricate medieval verse fairy tales through a process she likens to the ancient bardic traditions. She calls her long narrative poems medieval tapestries of verse and illustrates them with her own pen and ink drawings. The Sorcerer Queen is the first of these to be published. A former high school teacher and award-winning historical novelist, she holds a Master of Arts degree in Linguistics and is the author of a number of books, including The Alchemy of Illuminated Poetry®. She also composes poems for healing, spiritual connection and personal transformation. She and her husband have four grown children and are blessed with a plethora of grandchildren. They live in an old hacienda in Southern California.
