I didn’t know that they were sweethearts until I saw their yearbook picture. Skylar is the most attractive woman I’ve ever known. She’s a part of my husband’s friend group and we frequently hang out with her. She’s not my best friend, per se, but we are close enough that I thought I knew everything about her. Or at least, I should’ve known everything about my husband. But one evening, when our friends pull out an old yearbook, I realize her and my husband used to date and were voted ‘cutest couple.’ The shock of finding out this way rattles me to my core, but it’s not just jealousy and betrayal I feel, there’s something else—a growing desire to see more.
