It started out as any normal day, and then suddenly, it was not. Christina was waiting for her daughter to get out of school when it happened. She wasn’t sure how she knew something was wrong, only that there was. The virus is like nothing anyone has ever seen: the infected attack without direction, prompted by those who call their attention. For many, that point is the last time they see daylight in an untainted body.

A virus is turning normal people into monsters that attack anything that grabs their attention. They’re the closest thing to zombies that Christina has ever seen, and she was always one to say that zombies could never exist. Now she must protect herself and her daughter Julia from people whom she had once known, and who now wish to mangle and kill. Now she has another person to be worried for. She finds herself becoming protective of their new friend, Gino. Their journey in the mountains through the Infected Highway has only begun.

Now she finds herself becoming protective of their new friend, Gino. Their journey in the mountains through the Highway brought them to the horse farm Christina dreamed to own one day. They established in the place as if it was their own, at an extremely bloody price. Other people joined them. When a surprise enemy shows up, it will be up to all of them to defend their new home.
