La leggenda di Hyakkimaru e dello scaltro Dororo rivive nel nuovo adattamento di Satoshi Shiki (L’attacco dei giganti—Before the Fall). Per assecondare le proprie ambizioni, un samurai concede a 48 demoni altrettante parti del corpo del figlio nascituro… che sopravvivrà alle menomazioni e dichiarerà guerra ai suoi aguzzini.

Hyakkimaru ha recuperato i propri occhi, ma adesso il giovane samurai deve fare i conti con il dolore che questo comporta. Nel frattempo Dororo intende scoprire cosa si nasconde nel passato del nuovo amico.

Per recuperare il tesoro di Hibukuro bisogna superare il sentiero di ghiaccio che, ogni otto anni, appare nel tratto di mare che separa dalla terraferma il promontorio tatuato sulla schiena di Dororo. Sulla strada, però, Hyakkimaru percepisce uno dei suoi demoniaci nemici!
