Abilene

Abilene opens with Brock and his group in a huge fistfight in Denver and Huck and those traveling with him fighting off the murderous cattle rustlers of the Triple J. The excitement and danger only grow from there.
When Brock and his finally leave Denver, heading for their new life in Montana, they are attacked by two separate outlaw bands, as well as by a half dozen angry Kiowa warriors. Tragedy strikes right away when two members of their group are gunned down. One lives. One doesn’t, and Brock has to deal with the pain of feeling he’s caused the death one of his long-time friends.
Huck is doing what he can in Abilene to make sure they can leave town safely, with new cowboys and two thousand head of cattle, but the men of the Triple J have other ideas and are only too happy to kill to get what they want.

The family is finally settled in Montana Territory, but the problems and dangers they’d hoped to leave behind have followed them—or have been waiting for them.
Clint Beck, the evil and vindictive owner of the Boxed X ranch, can’t accept a woman ranch owner, another ranch rivaling his in size, or Brock. He hires gun hands to kill or scare back home the people of the Circle CM, but Brock and the others keep killing them or sending them racing back to the Boxed X as fast as their horses can carry them.
Beck decides to take things into his own hands and finish this once and for all, riding toward the Circle CM with a small army—but Brock has different ideas.
At the same time as they are dealing with the Boxed X, the largest winter storm in memory is crashing down on their ranch. Huck wrestles with leaving for Abilene and Sarah against the desire to stay until the Beck issue is finished.
Cisco and Maria hear the call of their native language and their native land and consider leaving, which will break Sophie’s heart.
All of this occurs against the backdrop of some of nature’s most beautiful lands, the challenges of starting a new ranch in a new place, and the building of a new town.
