After a couple of years of cleaning out the riffraff, Colorado City was a quiet town, and Mitchell County was a decent place to live. Other than the trail herds coming in spring and fall, not much could be considered excitement. Then came a land grabber, snatching up every ranch he could, by hook or by crook. Sheriff Mort Cummings was bound and determined to root out the criminal element that came with this newcomer. Until he was shot and taken out of the hunt. Deputy Jim Rooney stepped up, and with the help of the returning Creed boys, he continued the pursuit of the outlaws – determined to finish what Mort started. Eventually, it was the Creed’s who faced the danger head on and helped Rooney bring an end to the violence. With the combined efforts of a number of longtime ranching families and some returning friends, they made certain that peace ruled the land, and that Colorado City was once again known as… No Town For Outlaws
