Pizzeria owner and amateur sleuth, Eleanora Pacelli, doesn’t relish the prospect of flying down to Florida in the searing heat of one of their hottest summers, but when the manager of her Miami shop ends up in the hospital, she doesn’t have a choice. Longing to get back to the cooler climate of Maine as soon as possible, but knowing that the Miami store needs her, Ellie dives right in to help, eventually noticing that Linda, the manager, isn’t the only one suffering from a mysterious illness. One by one, the other employees begin getting sick at work as well. When dire tragedy strikes, and a customer succumbs merely hours after stopping by the pizzeria, Ellie is convinced that someone is poisoning people. The mysterious illness doesn’t leave her out, and when Ellie starts experiencing symptoms, she has to race against the clock to figure out who the culprit is and what they want.
