Benedetto Croce, an Italian philosopher, was heavily influenced by German Idealists. His work can be seen as a second attempt to resolve the problems and conflicts between empiricism and rationalism. Since the root of reality is an immanent existence in concrete experience, Croce places aesthetics at the foundation of his philosophy.
