Welcome to Holiday Hills, a magical town where the tea is sweet, and magic is always on the menu. As Holiday Hills buzzes with both trepidation and excitement preparing to host the state news station’s inaugural Enchanted Treats culinary competition, I find myself thrust into a web of intrigue that even my own cozy mystery novels could hardly conjure. Everyone is excited for the big celebration, a party on the night before the semi-finals. The competing chefs have prepared practice menus and tasty treats for guests, yours truly included. Yet, as the aroma of delicious and tantalizing treats fills the air, an unexpected and chilling event shatters the whimsy that usually envelopes the town. Victor Havensworth, a temperamental chef from Atlanta and judge of the competition, is discovered murdered, casting a shadow over the once-vibrant atmosphere. And of course, Bessie steps up to take his spot as a judge. Not that I wasn’t already worried because of another murder in town, but Bessie’s involvement in the event kicked my heart rate up a few notches. Because until Victor Havensworth’s murder is found, no one is safe. My resolve to find the killer increases as someone tries to stop me from solving the case. But those cryptic warnings and dangerous stunts don't scare me. Oh, and then there’s that thing with my best friend, Stella. Dealing with her new-found persona makes solving a murder seem easy. Only, it won’t stay that way if the murderer gets to me first.
