Vampires have lost their umph, no longer even mildly seductive or flirtatious but bashful and cowardly. Even my arch-nemesis, she who shall not be named, is too timid to chase after my police chief boyfriend. Okay, maybe that’s not a bad thing, but it’s highly suspicious, and it’s how I realized something wasn’t right. Am I living in an episode of the Twilight Zone? What’s going on? When a fairy I’d run into months before shows up with a warning, things go downhill fast. It seems someone’s cast a hex over Holiday Hills. But wait, it doesn’t end there. When one of the magicals I suspect of casting that hex is found dead, I have to work overtime to catch a double-duty criminal.
