When I was in fifth grade, I started writing my first short stories. I wasn't the most put-together kid but I'd always choose a book over playing outside. My tales were a mix of the fantastical and the eerie. I wrote about lovers defying the odds after the Titanic sank, an alien longing for home but meeting a tragic end at the hands of its human companion, and siblings locked in a haunting rivalry even beyond the grave. Now, as an adult, I still hold onto the reins of my characters' destinies. It's important to me that their fates align with my vision, ensuring that their stories unfold just as I imagined them.
