From the author of BELOW DECK, Sick B*stards and The Octopus When Steve Chappo keeps having bad dreams and bouts of terrifying sleep paralysis, his wife - Beth - decides enough is enough and decides to take him away from the stresses of life with a surprise weekend of camping. With a want to get away from everything, she doesn't want to go to a busy campsite but rather go and stay somewhere more remote, where it would just be the two of them. Her hope being that a weekend of romantic walks, snuggling together in their tent and outdoor cooking on the campfire will help his tired brain and finally allow him the opportunity to rest and relax. With work mounting and pressure from the big bosses, Steve isn't exactly keen to just drop everything and disappear into the wilderness. There's a worry that he won't be able to switch off properly and he'd only be putting himself further behind at work but - when the ghosts that haunt both his dreams and waking hours get louder and closer - he realises a break away from everything could be exactly what is needed and soon the two of them are headed off to the countryside for what they hope to be a peaceful weekend. Once the tent is erected and the fire is roaring, they think they have found the perfect, romantic spot for their weekend. Little do they know, they're not quite as alone as they'd originally thought. They're being watched. They're being hunted. "between the dead trees" can be read as a stand-alone novel. Author

Biography MATT SHAW was born, quite by accident (his mother tripped, he shot out) September 30th 1980 in Winchester hospital where he was immediately placed on the baby ward and EBay. Some twelve years later (wandering the corridors of the hospital and playing with road kill when he was on day release), the listing closed and he remained unsold, he was booted out of the hospital to start his life as a writer and hobbit – beginning with writing screenplays and short stories for his own amusement before finally getting published when he was twenty-seven years and forty-five seconds old. Once Published weekly in a lad's magazine with his photography work, Matt Shaw is also a published author and cartoonist. Has to be said, can be a bit of a flirt and definitely, without a shadow of a doubt, somewhat of a klutz. Favourite books "Roald Dahl's Collection of Short Stories" Tim Burton's Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy Anything, really, written by himself. Because he is that good.
