Prelude
2019
His blood sings for hers.
TOVEN
Musical genius. Bloodthirsty monster. I was both, sometimes one more than the other. The bloodthirst was my curse. Songwriting was my joy. I hated what I was, so I shut myself away from the world and embraced darkness. It worked fine for nearly a hundred years. But it seemed the world was no longer content to let me be a recluse selling my songs from the shadows. They demanded I step into the light and join the land of the living.
CELESTA
College student. Orphan. I was one, then the other. Tragedy snatched everything from me and left me with so many questions. So, I devised a dangerous plan to sell the only thing of value I had left, myself, to a vampire. All in order to uncover the truth. I was leaving one nightmare for another to overcome my misfortune.
Can a monster turn into her dream come true? Can a mere girl inspire new melodies for a world-renowned lyricist?

Refrain
2019
Her heart beats for his.
CELESTA ~
Everyone I cared about was gone. Dead. Except him. Though he’d argue since he was a vampire he was dead too. I was still searching for the truth, but it was elusive. As elusive as Toven’s heart. I offered myself to him—my blood, my body, my heart—but just when I thought I was making progress, he pushed me away again. He was afraid he’d hurt or taint me. Time was running out to convince him that he was worthy of love.
TOVEN ~
Everything that was important to me would soon disappear. My past was racing towards me, ready to destroy everything—my freedom, my music, her. There had to be a solution to save my life, to keep the song from fading into silence. I thought the biggest threat to Celesta was me and my nature. But I was starting to realize I was very naïve in my thinking. I had to save her before my time was up. Then I’d walk away. For her sake.
Can love resurrect a dead heart?
NOTE: This is part TWO of Toven and Celesta's story. Part ONE of their story can be read in Blood Song: Prelude.

Coda
2019
Two souls bound by blood and love.
TOVEN~
I had no heart. At least not in the emotional sense. For over a century, the organ in my chest served one purpose—to pump venom through my veins. But once she crashed into my life, literally, she shocked life back into my dead heart. Life wasn’t something that I wanted. But after I found it with her, I didn’t want to let it go. Too bad we don’t always get a choice.
CELESTA~
I thought I’d lost everything that mattered. But I was wrong. Losing what I had led me to find the most important thing in the world—him, the one. The other half of my heart and soul. As a vampire, he didn’t believe in such romantic notions. But I knew I could change his mind if only I had enough time. Sadly, time was the one thing the immortal I loved was running out of.
Can a blood song become a love song?
This is part THREE of Toven and Celesta’s story. Part ONE can be read in Blood Prelude
