Writing has always been a lifelong dream. Finally, at 71 years young, that dream became a reality. I am honored to be part of Dusty Saddles Publishing, the leading publisher of Western Novels. Currently, I have several Western Series on Amazon: Chet Henderson: Texas Ranger Adventure Series, Bear Willis: Mountain Man Series, and Willie McGee: Mountain Man Series. Along with a co-write with my granddaughter. In creating my Westerns, I wanted to do three things, be authentic, create likable characters, and tell a good story. With a lot of hard work and prayer, my books have been well received, so, I must be doing something right. I live with my wife of fifty-three years and our cat Moxie on Rattlesnake Ridge. We are lucky that our children, grandchildren, and great-grandson all live close by. When I'm not writing, I enjoy woodcarving, fishing, and pampering my classic Jaguar. I donate a portion of the profits from my books to Veteran charities, including the Veteran’s Independence Project.

It was the end of August and the evening air had a chill to it. I had come to town with three friends. We all had spent the summer wrangling horses in Jackson, Wyoming(1969). We came to ride some wild horses that had been caught in the Red Desert and it was the last rodeo of the season. The arena lights were turned on creating a black wall around the grounds. Of the three friends, two made their rides and the third got bucked off. I dropped onto my horse's back and grabbed hold of the rigging. Nodding my head, they pulled the gate and my horse came out, bucked once and then took off at a dead run. The pickup men could not catch me. The horse ran to the end of the arena and we jumped over the 6 foot high fence into the ink of night...the black wall created by the lights. We landed in a catch pen and I grabbed the corner and swung off his back. I cowboyed in the Sierra Nevadas, Wyoming, and northern Montana (Blackfeet Reservation). I was a hunting guide in the Gros Ventre range of Wyoming. Rode horseback from Missoula, MT to Jackson, WY down the Continental Divide (25 days on the trail). The horse I am riding in the photo is a sweet horse I got for a dollar. He was so spooky no one wanted him. I try to bring that experience to my stories. I wrote my first book 'Creed - Ride It Out' at 72. (2020). Hope you enjoy the stories. Thank you for reading this.
