Maira James is a regular working class girl from a small quaint New England town. She started writing in the 90s, and became serious about her craft by 2005, which is when she started connecting with other writers. She spent approximately three years deep in the world of romance writing, learning the tricks of the trade, different types of publishing, all the best houses, agents, and editors, and who to look to for advice. All of that came to a halt in 2008, when life demanded she put her passion on the back burner. When she started writing seriously again in 2014, she realized that quite a bit had changed while she’d been gone. The rules were no longer the rules, and many of the great houses had fallen. The digital age was upon us, and it was adapt or die. The writing world felt like Wonderland, and she found she had to learn all over again. One thing hadn’t changed, however, and that was her passion and determination to see her name in print.
