Divorced, empty-nested, and staring fifty in the eye is every bit as crappy as it sounds. Luckily, life is about to be shaken, not stirred. When Jules Cavanaugh's flakey dad passes and leaves her his bar in Coastal Florida, it becomes the Hail Mary she needs. Her empty nest becomes a not-so-gilded cage, so before she can talk herself out of it, she packs everything she can in the back of her car and strikes out to start over. Once she gets there, all is sunshine and fruity cocktails until she finds an odd old book in a hidden safe and a cryptic letter from her father in a secret safety deposit box. At first, she writes it off to his eccentricity until she accidentally summons a storm when her ex pushes her one step too far. Before Jules can begin to understand the new magic coursing through her veins, she uncovers a corrupt plot to hijack power she doesn't yet understand and destroy all she's come to hold dear. She may be a few hot flashes past her prime ass-kicking years, but she's about to hand out a hard lesson in underestimating the power of experience. This is book 1 in the A Shot of Midlife Magic Paranormal Women's Fiction series. If you like strong female characters, smartass gargoyles, and hot shifters who know how to treat a woman, then this is the book for you!
Author

I was born and raised in the South and even hung my motorcycle helmet in Colorado for a few months. I've always had a touch of wanderlust and have never feared just packing up and going on new adventures, whether in real life or via the pages of a great book. When I was a little girl, I didn't want to grow up to be a writer—I wanted to raise unicorns and be a superhero. When those gigs fell through, I chose the next best thing: creating my own magical lands filled with adventure, magic, humor, and romance. I live in Florida with my two dogs and when I'm not writing or reading, I'm racing motorcycles with my taller, more handsome half, hanging out at the beach, or binge-watching anything magical on Netflix. I'm eternally grateful for all the people who help make my life what is today - friends, readers, family. No woman is an island.
