It really is hard to kill what’s already dead. With Halloween over, Jesse and Cooper want nothing more than to return to normal life, but their problems are far from over. The elder they fought so hard to stop wasn’t adequately destroyed; worse, it’s missing, and remains a threat to them all. The news being delivered by an angry vampire hellbent on finishing the job that Franklin failed to doesn’t help much, either. With some suspicion-inducing help from Franklin and the promise of Jesse’s “special connection,” the pair manage to negotiate a deal: they’ll help find and stop the elder, once and for all. At least this time around, they have some idea what they’re dealing with. Or so they think, only to slowly uncover something much deeper, much darker than anything any of them expected, something even the vampires can’t begin to understand, something that’s going to change everything – not least of all Jesse and Cooper themselves.
