In the waning days of the Third Comet War, Cavalry Scout Davin Batrum seeks the aid of a coven of Sanguine Healers to save his commander from a terrible sickness. However, when the witches betray him, Davin commits an act of violence so heinous it draws the ire of The Knowing One, a demonic ancient God. It summons a servant known as The Collector to steal the body of Batrum’s daughter, sparking a quest of redemption and bloodshed that will put a father’s love to the ultimate test.
