For as far back as he could remember, Eban Scruge never found anything holly or jolly about Christmas time, but when tragedy strikes too close to home on Christmas Eve, the hatred he felt for the holiday comes full circle. Scruge becomes the hood Santa Claus, and the gifts are ones that the families will never forget. If “love never hurt so bad” was a person, Chanae “Cocoa” Jackson would be the one. Being betrayed by her high school sweetheart and child’s father, she is left to pick up the broken pieces of her life and care for her daughter at the same time. While constantly fighting demons, one bad decision lands Cocoa in the presence of Scruge, whose patience for ignorance is as thin as ice. With no other choice, Cocoa surrenders to the grinch in order to keep her daughter safe. After meeting Cocoa and her daughter, Scruge is on an emotional rollercoaster.
