Although these two poets and authors never met in person, they did share a writing correspondence for over 14 years. Starting in 1922 after a letter from HPL praising Smith's artwork and poetry, these are the first printings of the complementary letters from Smith. Included inside are excerpts from Smiths letters to August Derleth after HPL's death and the poem "To Howard Phillips Lovecraft" written two weeks after Lovecrafts death. A fascinating glimpse into the workings of these fine writers.
