Chance Thorn, United States Marshal, is ordered to go to Los Angeles to dig into a recent murder and a nest of police corruption that has taken over the town. Not even the District Attorney or the Police Chief can be trusted so he goes in under an alias to dig into the problem. He soon finds large scale counterfeiting, blackmail by saloon madams, and suddenly four murders to unravel. He is threatened by the crime syndicate and calls on the California Attorney General to send him some help. Will this be enough to arrest the chief of police and the D.A. or will Chance and his men be overwhelmed by the syndicate?
