Ministering to the mourning is one of the most taxing and delicate duties of a pastor. What minister can forget feeling helpless when conducting his first funeral service - or when calling on grieving family members from his first church? Comforting the Bereaved will help both ministers and concerned lay people give God's comfort to those who hurt. It deals with death and grief from a biblical and psychological perspective and also offers practical advice to ministers on how to handle the grief situation and the funeral service. Though it is impossible to deal with every delicate situation death can initiate, Comforting the Bereaved seeks to offer help for those situations that occur most. There are also suggested answers to questions people most often ask, and help in preparing funeral messages appropriate to individual circumstances. Warren and David Wiersbe, father and son, combine nearly forty years of ministry to help both pastor and lay person handle grief situations more effectively and thus comfort the bereaved.
