Fae's Prisoner

2020

Griffin O’Shea is a traitor. It’s what those outside the prison realm called him when he chose the wrong side in the war of the fae queens. Now, he is the only person in the entire fae world who remembers his dark deeds. The moment Griffin crossed into the prison realm, every fae he’d ever known forgot he existed. Left with nothing—not even his magic—he’s had to survive in a land of eternal darkness where a ruthless king terrorizes villages full of Dark Fae. Creatures with magnificent wings, tails, and horns wander the darkness of Myrkur, forgotten by all who believe this harsh world is one for criminals alone. It’s been nearly ten years, and once again, Griffin is traitor to a king. But this time instead of punishment, Griffin is offered a mission that will take him across the magical barrier into the realms he once called home. His task? Find a way to destroy the magic keeping the Dark Fae inside the prison realm. Riona, the king’s champion, watches Griffin’s every move, forcing him to remain loyal to the dark king even when facing a brother who does not recognize him, an ex-wife who doesn’t know him, and two children that could be the key to everything. Destroying the prison magic will send dangerous fae out into the peaceful realms, and Griffin must decide if maybe this time, becoming a traitor is the right thing to do.

Fae's Power

2020

Griffin O’Shea is Forgotten. Maybe it’s a good thing no one outside the prison realm remembers everything he did to earn his place in the dark kingdom. Now that he’s back in the world of the Light Fae, he wants to earn their trust, their loyalty, and that means going after the missing prince and princess of Iskalt, children who call him uncle. It means searching through the human realm for a vanishing village only he can see and a book full of dangerous magic and devious secrets that are better left alone. With a human leading the search, Riona at his side, and a profound lack of magic, the chances of finding anything they seek have never been worse. But the odds won’t stop them. Nor will an illness threatening Griffin’s life. Even if he has to crawl through the portals and face the king of Myrkur on his knees, he cannot stop. Because there are things worse than death. Watching those he loves die before him. Seeing the realms of the fae crumble into dust. Returning to the prison realm means being forgotten once again. Returning without the book could mean certain death. But when all roads point to war, Griffin has no other choice. The king must be defeated. His vast army must be stopped. And this time, Griffin wants to be the hero instead of the villain.

Fae's Promise

2020

Griffin O’Shea is trapped. Again. His prison sentence was supposed to end when the magic keeping the Dark Fae captive in Myrkur finally fell. But when King Egan’s army clashed with the armies of Iskalt and Fargelsi on the battlefield, there was no winner and no clear path forward. Now the Dark Fae king is missing, vanished without a trace of the army at his back or the abducted child leading him to the prize he desires. The magic held in Aghadoon. With no way to locate the forever moving village, Griffin can only set his sights on a more attainable goal—saving Eldur from the coming invasion. The desert kingdom is Egan’s next target and there is no magic strong enough to stop him. Until now. Joining forces with people who do not trust him may prove foolish. Allying himself with the ones he isn’t allowed to love brings unimaginable pain. Yet, with Riona and Gulliver by his side, Griffin can handle the unwanted magic that has returned to haunt him, the brother who hates him, and the questions with answers that could change everything. But none of that will matter if Egan isn’t stopped, because now, it isn’t only the fae realm in danger of succumbing to his darkness, but the human realm as well. As Griffin begins to lose hope that he can save his family and earn their trust again, he starts to wonder… Will he ever truly be free?

Melissa A. Craven (the "A" stands for Ann—in case you were wondering) was born near Atlanta, Georgia, but moved to Cleveland, Ohio at the age of seventeen. She still thinks of Cleveland as home, so it was only natural for Emerge to take place there. Today, she is back in Atlanta—for some reason she can't seem to stay away from the ungodly heat that makes her long for things like "lake effect snow" and wind that will knock you flat. Melissa decided a long time ago that the “life checklist” everyone else was clutching so tightly in their fists, just wasn’t for her. She does everything backwards because she is weird like that, but then, she is an artist and artists are notoriously "unique" and "quirky." She is an avid student of art and design, and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of West Georgia in 2009. She worked as an interior designer for several years, but she's always thought she might like to be a writer when she grows up. In her spare time, if she has any, she enjoys shopping for derelict furniture she refinishes to exercise the interior design part of her brain.
