In this ode to classic creature fiction, a team of scientists is called to investigate an infestation of Cicada in Florida. When the expedition encounters severe devastation of flora and fauna in the forest and some abnormally large insect casements, they find out they are dealing with a new and aggressive offshoot of the species.
