Theodor Seuss Geisel published more than 60 children's books under the pen name Dr. Seuss. Born in Massachusetts in 1904, Geisel began drawing cartoons and writing humorous pieces while at Dartmouth College. After college, he earned a living in advertising but was always interested in children's books and childhood literacy.
