If that’s the case, we don’t need to go over how different the ’80s were. We’ve already discussed that, and how that decade wasn’t all sunshine and roses, fun and games, or alcohol and parties with iconic music. A secret I’ve learned on my journey is, it wasn’t just the ’80s that had sinister shadows. I know you're wondering what my point in all this is, and I’ll tell you. My story has been gritty from day one. That’s because life is gritty and I don’t sugar-coat shit. That’s never been who I am. The older a person gets, the grittier life gets. Think of it this way, life is like a video game. Every year you level up, and each new level leads to newer, more difficult challenges and more badass boss fights. As this story progresses, the hurdles and enemies get steadily more dangerous. So do the love, passion and success. The outcomes are not always as pretty as we might like.
