Nobek doesn’t want to go to Endless Nights. But he doesn’t have much choice. His older brother bought the resort, and it was his idea to do all the traveling for new acquisitions, so he’ll do as he’s told and go inspect the place. Endless Nights promises guests that “every pleasure” will be available to them, and Nobek’s assignment is to sample as many as he can. Quinn doesn’t want to work at Endless Nights. But the pleasure palace has bankrupted all the other resorts in the system, including the one his family owned, so he needs the money. They all do. To make matters worse, the resort has changed hands. Quinn’s job was already challenging enough, and he doesn’t feel like relearning how to do it just yet. Neither of them wants to be where they are, but the cosmic fates don’t care about that. They have much, much better plans in the works.
