Numa Sadoul provides insights into the life and works of Belgian comic book author André Franquin, creator of Gaston Lagaffe and the Marsupilami, as well as longtime writer/texter of the series Spirou et Fantasio. The book is centred around a series of long interviews with Franquin, recorded over the course of several days in 1985. It is illustrated with excerpts from the works discussed, as well as Franquin's sketchbooks, early publications and unreleased material.
